Description

As a Sushi Chef , you will play a pivotal role in creating and executing our menu of exquisite sushi and Asian-inspired dishes. Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating with the Executive Chef and culinary team to develop creative and innovative sushi and Asian cuisine offerings that align with our restaurant's vision and standards of excellence. Preparing and presenting a wide variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision, artistry, and attention to detail. Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, freshness, and flavor are maintained at all times, while adhering to proper food safety and sanitation protocols. Sourcing and selecting the freshest and highest quality ingredients, including fish, seafood, produce, and specialty Japanese ingredients, to showcase the best of Asian cuisine. Leading by example in the kitchen, inspiring and mentoring junior culinary staff to elevate their skills and creativity in sushi and Asian cuisine preparation. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency in the sushi bar and kitchen areas, including equipment maintenance and inventory management. Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of orders, special requests, and guest preferences. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Asian Cuisine Chef in a fine dining restaurant or sushi bar setting, with a strong portfolio showcasing mastery of sushi and Japanese culinary techniques. Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi preparations, and Asian ingredients, as well as a passion for exploring and incorporating innovative flavors and techniques. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail, with the ability to create visually stunning and impeccably presented dishes. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Creativity and adaptability to develop and execute seasonal menus, daily specials, and unique culinary experiences.
